Matthew M Williams, head designer of fashion label 1017 ALYX 9SM, is most notably known for his unique design language that is inclusive of technical, yet fashion-forward proportions. As far as design cues go, signature ALYX detailing arrives on the proprioceptus belt located on the collars that are fitted in silver or gold tooling. Minimalist branding touches also include gold or silver foil stencils on the lateral heel counter. The build makes use of premium black tumbled leather throughout the upper, accented with gold foil ALYX branding on the lateral heel and the brand’s signature anodized buckle on the leather ankle strap. Matching black tooling completes the monochromatic design.
